IF the governor of Arizona is being truthful and that bill is not legalized racial profiling at all, then I have some questions:
- What is legal about seizing huge swathes of an entire continent by force, then pushing the rightful inhabitants onto, “reservations” as though they are the immigrants and you are the rightful owners?
- What is legal about people who came from other lands creating whole new borders and setting the criteria as to who can or can’t be considered a citizen of the country they have created with little or no consent from the rightful owners?
- What is legal about using another race as slaves, as mere property, and then failing to offer meaningful reparation when the insidious practice is ended?
While the law cannot be applied retrospectively, there is no doubt that the history of white folks in this country, the simple fact that there are white folks in this country, can be viewed as in direct contravention of the entire concept of justice and morality that underpins their legal system. Strictly speaking, white people are here illegally, African Americans were brought here illegally by human traffickers and Arizona’s 250,000 Native Americans alone are above scrutiny in the immigration stakes.
Arizona cops should arrest all white people. And then arrest themselves.
